Meet Our Doctor
Frank M. Ivey, Jr., M.D., an experienced orthopaedic surgeon and educator, is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in 1971 and also completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery there. Between his surgery internship and residency, Dr. Ivey served as a Lieutenant in the Navy stationed in Guam. Following his residency, Dr. Ivey completed a Fellowship in Sports Medicine and Reconstruction of the Knee under the sponsorship of Martin E. Blazina, M.D. in Sherman Oaks, California.
Dr.Ivey has extensive teaching experience. Since 1979, he has served as a professor of orthopaedic surgery at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, graduating from assistant to associate to tenured professor. He has also been actively involved in numerous research studies and regularly publishes his findings in prestigious medical journals such as Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research and the American Journal of Sports Medicine.
Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Ivey has served on a number of professional committees. In addition, Dr. Ivey is a frequent presenter at professional conferences around the country.
